Get Help NowChris Zachar is a Phoenix-based personal injury trial lawyer. A graduate of Arizona State University (1989) and the University of Arizona College of Law (1992), he has been practicing law in the state since 1992. As a Board Certified Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death law, Chris is part of a very small group of attorneys—less than 1% statewide—who have achieved this specialized recognition by the Arizona State Bar. His practice includes all city, county and Arizona state courts, as well the United States District Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the US Supreme Court.
A skillful litigator, Chris has earned a reputation for obtaining very favorable settlements and large verdicts for his clients in matters involving personal injury and wrongful death. Settlements can often be reached out of court, but when this isn’t possible, Chris and his trial team bring the litigation experience needed to argue and win your case in front of a jury.

Chris was very helpful and quick to respond. Whenever I had issues getting in touch with anyone else, he was the first to contact me. He really made sure I understood the process and made it so easy for me. I was and am happy to have Chris in my corner. Thank you for all you’ve done for me!
Everyone who I dealt with was thorough and professional while also taking the time to listen. I really appreciated the solid advice that they gave me and that their fees were very reasonable. I would wholeheartedly recommend the firm to friends and use their services again, if needed.
I’m giving a five star review to Christine Maddox and Joeann from Zachar Law firm. They did a excellent job on my car accident. They referred me to a doctor with transportation when my car was totalled. Best of all I received s settlement twice the amount I thought I was going to receive.
There are many lawyers who advertise for personal injury cases; however, only a small percentage are Certified Specialists in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death law. So what differentiates the two? In short, a Certified Specialist in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death has proven experience, and has both met and exceeded the standards established by the State Bar of Arizona.
There are more than 18,000 lawyers in Arizona, but only 125 who are Certified Specialists in Personal Injury and Wrongful Death. Zachar Law Firm has two—Christopher Zachar and David Catanese.
The main factors for Certification include proven trial experience and success. Then, maintaining high ethical standards, passing a lengthy specialist exam and then receiving the approval from the Arizona State Bar Specialization Board. Less than 1% of attorneys in Arizona are Certified Specialists—meaning only those with superior levels of knowledge and experience can even attain this rating.
You can rest assured that, when dealing with a Certified Specialist, your case will be treated with the highest degree of experience and professionalism that can be offered in Arizona.
In Arizona, the statute of limitations on personal injury is generally two years. This means that generally, claims filed more than two years after the date of the accident are likely to be dismissed. However, this is not a certainty. Some claims have as little as 180 days after the accident to do something, others, only one year. If you have a legal claim for injuries, DO NOT DELAY. Call Zachar Law Firm today to discuss your case.
The state of Arizona limits the persons who are able to file a wrongful death claim. These are the surviving spouse of the deceased person, surviving children, a surviving parent, the personal representative of the deceased person or the personal representative of the deceased person’s estate.
In Arizona, there are no limits. Some states have “damage caps” (limitations on the amount of damages one can receive). Arizona has no damage caps.
Claimants in personal injury and wrongful death cases are able to recover both financial and nonfinancial damages. Examples of financial damages include medical bills, lost income and other out of pocket losses. Nonfinancial damages include compensation for physical and emotional pain and suffering, mental trauma and other damages.
Some common forms of accidents resulting in personal injury litigation include motor vehicle accidents, premise liability claims (slip/trip and fall), dog bite/attack, nursing home abuse claims and workplace injuries.
